I know that my first episode was on trafficking and I will come back to that in episode 3. Stay tuned, I have some good new material there.  In the interim, check out this episode on Sneaker Violence in the DMV area.  Too many kids dying over Nike/Adidas limited release shoes.

Gov. Snyder terminates bottled water effective this week (April 10, 2018).

The government argues that: 1) tap water is safe now; 2) water quality has improved dramatically, and 3) $16 million of the state's funds have gone to bottled water.
But the people feel that 1) the government's word cannot be trusted; 2) the water pipes in Flint have still not be replaced; and 3) there are still chemicals and bacteria in the water, even if the lead content has been reduced.
Here is an NPR report on the new development on All Things Considered, April 10, 2018

There is now another town in Michigan with groundwater contamination. Plainfield Township has a population of about 30K and unlike Flint is a middle-class, predominantly White town.  The culprit? Hush Puppies -- the manufacturer was apparently dumping waste into the river for years....

See the announcement from the Township here: https://www.plainfieldmi.org/house-st-ground-water-contamination.html
