The government argues that: 1) tap water is safe now; 2) water quality has improved dramatically, and 3) $16 million of the state's funds have gone to bottled water. But the people feel that 1) the government's word cannot be trusted; 2) the water pipes in Flint have still not be replaced; and 3) there are still chemicals and bacteria in the water, even if the lead content has been reduced. Here is an NPR report on the new development on All Things Considered, April 10, 2018 https://www.npr.org/2018/04/10/601268214/in-flint-residents-scramble-to-get-the-last-cases-of-state-provided-bottled-wate

What if the residents still don't trust the water? I mean, would YOU, if the government had already lied the first time?!

Would anyone trust the government after what happened to these families? It’s so unfair. Thanks for calling it out.

I would not take the government’s word that the water is safe. Come on, they did not even reveal the problem until people started to get sick from the water.
